KA is a set of auxiliary furniture inspired by the nopal, an iconic Mexican plant. The collection was developed through close observation of the plant’s form and presence in the landscape, aiming to create an emotional connection between the object and its user.

Designed as part of Apasionada Maquinación—a project focused on producing machined objects in under ten minutes—KA explores how efficiency and personality can coexist. One of the goals was to offer an interactive buying experience, where users could customize their piece on the spot and walk away with it in minutes.

Material experimentation played a key role in the development. Polyurethane foam was used as the main structure, inviting curiosity and play around how objects interact with the surface. The modular design makes the piece easy to assemble and adapt to different lifestyles. A traditional weaving technique was also reimagined—thread is wound around the lathed wooden legs, referencing the spines of the nopal in a more abstract way.
